The Doctrine of the Trinity

1. What Is the Trinity?
The Trinity is the Christian belief that there is one God who exists eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. These three are not three gods, but one God in three distinct Persons.
تثلیث مسیحی ایمان ہے کہ ایک ہی خدا ہے جو ازل سے ابد تک تین اقانیم میں موجود ہے: باپ، بیٹا (یسوع مسیح)، اور روح القدس۔ یہ تین خدا نہیں بلکہ ایک ہی خدا تین الگ اقانیم میں ہے۔
2. The Bible Teaches One God
بائبل ایک خدا کی تعلیم دیتی ہے
Christianity is strictly monotheistic.
📖 Deuteronomy 6:4 — “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.”
📖 Isaiah 45:5 — “I am the LORD, and there is no other.”
مسیحیت سختی سے توحید پر ایمان رکھتی ہے۔

👉 So the Trinity does not mean three gods. It means one divine Being.

3. The Father Is God
باپ خدا ہے
The Father is clearly called God in Scripture.
📖 1 Corinthians 8:6 — “Yet for us there is one God, the Father…”
The Father is the source, planner, and sender in salvation.
کلامِ مقدس میں باپ کو واضح طور پر خدا کہا گیا ہے۔
📖 1 کرنتھیوں 8:6 — “لیکن ہمارے لئے تو ایک ہی خدا ہے یعنی باپ…”
نجات کے منصوبہ میں باپ منصوبہ بنانے والا اور بھیجنے والا ہے۔
4. The Son (Jesus Christ) Is God
بیٹا (یسوع مسیح) خدا ہے
The Son is not created; He is eternal and divine.
📖 John 1:1 — “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
📖 John 1:14 — “The Word became flesh…”
📖 John 10:30 — “I and the Father are one.”
The Word refers to Jesus Christ, who became human.
بیٹا مخلوق نہیں بلکہ ازلی اور الٰہی ہے۔
📖 یوحنا 1:1 — “ابتدا میں کلام تھا اور کلام خدا کے ساتھ تھا اور کلام خدا تھا۔”
📖 یوحنا 1:14 — “اور کلام مجسم ہوا…”
📖 یوحنا 10:30 — “میں اور باپ ایک ہیں۔”
یہ کلام یسوع مسیح کی طرف اشارہ کرتا ہے جو انسان بنا۔
5. The Holy Spirit Is God
روح القدس خدا ہے
The Holy Spirit is not a force, but a Person and fully God.
📖 Acts 5:3–4 — Lying to the Holy Spirit is called lying to God.
📖 2 Corinthians 3:17 — “Now the Lord is the Spirit…”
The Spirit teaches, guides, speaks, and can be grieved — qualities of a person.
روح القدس کوئی طاقت نہیں بلکہ ایک شخصیت اور مکمل خدا ہے۔
📖 اعمال 5:3-4 — روح القدس سے جھوٹ بولنا خدا سے جھوٹ بولنا کہا گیا۔
📖 2 کرنتھیوں 3:17 — “خداوند روح ہے…”
روح القدس سکھاتا، رہنمائی کرتا، بولتا اور غمگین ہوتا ہے — جو شخصیت کی نشانیاں ہیں۔
6. All Three Together in One Passage
تینوں ایک ہی حوالہ میں
At the baptism of Jesus Christ:
📖 Matthew 3:16–17
The Son is baptized
The Spirit descends like a dove
The Father speaks from heaven
Also:
📖 Matthew 28:19 — “Baptizing them in the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Notice: “Name” is singular — one God.
یسوع مسیح کے بپتسمہ کے وقت:

بیٹا بپتسمہ لیتا ہے
روح کبوتَر کی مانند نازل ہوتی ہے
باپ آسمان سے آواز دیتا ہے

7. Understanding the Trinity (Theological Explanation)
تثلیث کی الٰہیاتی وضاحت
God is:
One in Essence (Being)
Three in Persons
The Father is not the Son.
The Son is not the Spirit.
The Spirit is not the Father.
Yet all share the same divine nature.
This is a mystery beyond full human understanding, but not a contradiction.
خدا:
ذات میں ایک ہے
اقانیم میں تین ہے
باپ بیٹا نہیں۔
بیٹا روح نہیں۔
روح باپ نہیں۔
لیکن سب ایک ہی الٰہی فطرت رکھتے ہیں۔
یہ ایک راز ہے جو انسانی عقل سے مکمل طور پر سمجھا نہیں جا سکتا، مگر یہ تضاد نہیں ہے۔
8. Roles in Salvation
نجات میں کردار
The Father plans salvation.
The Son accomplishes salvation through the cross.
The Holy Spirit applies salvation to believers.

باپ نجات کا منصوبہ بناتا ہے۔
بیٹا صلیب پر نجات مکمل کرتا ہے۔
روح القدس ایمانداروں میں نجات نافذ کرتی ہے۔

9. What the Trinity Is NOT
تثلیث کیا نہیں ہے
❌ Not three gods (that is tritheism).
❌ Not one Person acting in three modes (that is modalism).
❌ Not dividing God into parts.
❌ یہ تین خدا نہیں (یہ تثلیث نہیں بلکہ شرک ہوگا)۔
❌ یہ ایک ہی خدا کے تین روپ نہیں (یہ غلط تعلیم ہے)۔
❌ خدا کو حصوں میں تقسیم کرنا بھی نہیں۔
