          MISSION STATEMENT

OF TIMOTHYS DISCIPLES FOR CHRIST CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES
      The last words of Our Christ Jesus before He ascended to the Father was THE GREAT COMMISSION, MATTHEW 28:19-20. I believe that this is the third most important commandment. The first and second Great Commandments are found in Matthew 22:37-39.
      This Great Commission, as it is called was not a suggestion, it was a Commandment. Jesus spent three and a half years training His Disciples for this Commission, He started out with twelve apostles, that He hand picked who was His main body of students, whom He taught how to teach, and gave them gifts of the Spirit, namely healing, and casting out demons.
      On His last missionary assignment that we have recorded, their were seventy Disciples on whom He bestowed these gifts,,and sent out  (LUKE 10:1-20).

      After Jesus' Crucifixion and ascention into heaven the Disciples were dispersed throughout the territories and countries.
      The main twelve apostles went about establishing Churches and teaching Elders to oversee the Churches and teach the gospel, which is Discthe Churches today preach repentance and baptism, although some of the biggest Churches has went slack on preaching Hell fire and brimstone. They have almost all forgotten about making Disciples to Make Disciples. In a lot of Churches today once you have been baptized the rest of your Christian life is spent going to Church three times a week.
ipleship. In today's Churches this, t fallhe deliberate tasc of making Disciples to Make Disciples hasen by the wayside. Most of       But that is not how the life of a Christian Disciple is supposed to be spent. Being baptized should be the starting point of making Disciples, not the Finnish line.
      God's people are Jesus' Disciples, we have a responsibility to Our Lord to go into the world and make Disciples. That is our Great Commission as Christ's Disciples.

      As a congregation we gather as an assembly to refuel on God's word, and be taught what Jesus taught His Disciples so once the Church service is over we are equipped to go out into the world and teach Discipleship.
      Jesus said, teach them to observe all things that I have Commanded you. And this is why teaching Discipleship is so important, Jesus Commanded it.

2. David therefore departed there, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down thither to him.
3. The cave Adullam. From the verb Adal meaning “turn aside,” whence Adulam means "retreat, refuge". n.pr. old Canaanite city, 
4. Adullam (עֲדֻלָּם‎) is an ancient ruin, built upon a hilltop overlooking the Elah Valley, south of Bet Shemesh in Israel. The hilltop is mostly flat, with cisterns carved into the rock. The remains of stone structures which once stood there can still be seen. There are mostly potsherds noticeable everywhere, and olive groves now grow atop of this hill, enclosed within stone hedges. (Wikipedia).
5. Adullam was the name of a town of Judah. Innumerable caverns are there, one nearly 100 feet long excavated in the soft limestone hills on the hill (500 feet high). David's brethren and kinsmen joined him partly from sympathy with him, and partly because their own lives were in jeopardy front Saul's furious enmity (Barnes).
6. The caves are located on the borders of the Philistine plain at the base of the Judea mountains, six miles southwest from Beth-lehem, and well adapted for concealing a number of refugees (Jamieson et al).
   
7. Adullam is near the valley of Elah (Josh 12:15; 15:35). It forms a natural fortress, well adapted for the site of a city. The sides of the tributary valleys are lined with rows of caves, amply sufficient to accommodate David’s 400 men, and still used for habitations (Conder; Cambridge).
8. David's cave was one of many in the Terebinth valley. (Pulpit). The cave of Adullam was a strong hold in the tribe of Judah (1 Chr. 11:15; Josh 15:35). This place, fortified by nature, is so fitted for the security of persons in distress. 
   
9. Many times it provided a refuge to the Christians also, who fled thither with their families, flocks, and herds (Delaney). As it was in the tribe of Judah, and David perhaps fled to it in hopes of finding some friends in those parts. And his brethren, &c., went down thither to him — Either to comfort him, or to secure themselves from the fury of Saul (Benson).
10. Are you in unbearable troubles at this time? Try to find out the refugee in Jesus rather than Christmas gift from someone. you are going to experience more wonderful security and heavenly provision of Father in Heaven like Adullam.
