- They arrived,
- then, the two angels to Sodom at the fall of the afternoon;
- and Lot was sitting at the door of Sodom.
- And when Lot saw them, he got up to receive them,
- and he bowed to the ground, and said:
- Now, my gentlemen,
- I beg you to come to your servant's house and stay,
- and wash your feet;
- and in the morning you will rise up,
- and you will follow your path.
- And they responded:
- Do not,
- that in the street we will stay tonight.
- But he persisted with them a lot,
- and they went with him, and entered his house;
- and he made them a feast, and he baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
- But before they went to bed,
- the men of the city surrounded the house,
- the men of Sodom,
- all the people together, from the youngest to the oldest.
- And they called Lot,
- and they said to him:
- Where are the men who came to you tonight?
- Take them out,
- The
- so that we know them. (intimate sexually)
- Then Lot went out to them at the door,
- and closed the door behind him,
- and said:
- I beg you, my brothers, do not do such evil.
- Behold now I have two daughters who have not known a man; (virgins)
- I'll take them out,
- and do them as you see fit;
- only that these men do nothing,
- for they came in the shadow of my roof.
- And they responded:
- Take away there;
- and they added:
- This stranger came to live among us,
- And will there be a self-appointed judge?
- Now we will deal worse than them.
- And they did great violence to the man,
- to Lot,
- and they came to break the door.
- Then the men extended their hands,
- and they put Lot in the house with them,
- and they closed the door.
- And the men who were at the door of the house they struck with blindness from the least to the greatest,
- so that they were fatigued looking for the door.
- And the men said to Lot,
- Do you have any more here?
- Son-in-law, and your sons and daughters, and everything you have in the city, get him out of this place;
- because we are going to destroy this place,
- because the cry against them has gone up before the Lord;
- so,
- Jehovah has sent us to destroy it.
- Then Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law,
- those who were to take their daughters,
- and he told them:
- Get up, get out of this place;
- because Jehovah God is going to destroy this city.
- But it seemed to his sons-in-law that he mocked. (they did not believe him)
- And as the morning dawned, the angels hurried Lot, saying:
- Get up,
- Take your wife, and your two daughters who are here,
- so that you do not perish in the punishment of the city. And stopping him,
- the males took their hand,
- and from the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters,
- according to the mercy of the Lord God to him;
- and they took him out and put him out of the city.
